General information:

Our wooden flooring 2- / 3-layer plank is a resource-conserving flooring consisting of layers of the highest quality and have a very good dimensional stability. For proper installation, it is important to follow these guidelines to enjoy years of beauty and use from your new flooring.
Upon receipt of these goods, the flooring should be stored and acclimatised in the packaging (at room temperature) for at least 48-72 hours, lie horizontal and flat – at the ideal relative humidity level of 45% and protected away from moisture areas. Upon opening the packaging, verify that all material is of high quality before fitting. Cut or missing products cannot be accepted in a claim. A healthy environment is important for the wooden floor and also for the people. The room temperature should be 18-22°C with a room humidity of 50-60%. In strong heating seasons, especially in winter, it is possible that the room humidity decrease to under 50%. We recommend the use of humidifiers. The room temperature and humidity is measured by using a thermometer and a hygrometer. Our Plank 2- / 3-layer is suitable for installation on a under floor heating, however, the maximum surface temperature may not exceed 26⁰C.
Wood is a natural product which is very individual in his nature and properties. From the pattern or image different colouring, differences in grain and structure are typical for the product and will not be taken as cause for complaint.

Texture, condition of the substrate:

Generally the surface must be free of old flooring, clean, permanently dry, level, stable and the base should be designed in accordance with the following requirements:
- in accordance with DIN 18202 "tolerances in building construction" - flatness of the substrate (Table 3, row 4)
- after minimum requirement for screeds DIN 18560, technical rules
- according to VOB Part C, DIN 18365 with floor coverings (clean, dry, level, and tensile and compression strength)
- according to EN 1264-2 (underfloor heating and components)
- max. residual moisture in cement screed 2.0% CM (underfloor heating 1.8% CM)
- max. residual moisture in anhydrite 0.5% CM (underfloor heating 0.3% CM)

Installation:

Our 2- /3-layer planks are laid floating in normal living spaces by means of Unilin drop-down connection on the ground or fully adhered to the substrate. By laid floating installation we recommend to use a vapour barrier (0.2 mm PE film). This should be installed between the underground and the flooring. To decrease the sound impact we advise the use of a sound insulation made of foam or cork (approximately 2 mm thick) between vapour barrier and the flooring. On an underfloor heating system we recommend you to glue down this flooring.

After installation, remove the wall spacing wedges and refit to cover the expansion joints skirting on the wall.

Cleaning, care and maintenance:

Our flooring is created for easy maintenance. Generally the flooring can be swept or vacuumed. You can slow the aging of your new planks through the use of floor mats and door mats (to keep out excess dirt, including sand and stones), however please do not put heavy rugs or similar thing covers on the wood flooring. It is recommended to use felt pads under furniture to provide appropriate protection. High heels and pointed objects, and sharp claws from animals can cause damage to the floor also.

We wish you every success in laying our planks and enjoy your new flooring for years to come.
